Shop pink for a purpose: McGrath Foundation launches pink fashion collection with THE ICONIC

The McGrath Foundation has partnered with Australia’s leading fashion and lifestyle platform, THE ICONIC to launch the bespoke McGrath Pink Edit for the duration of Breast Cancer Awareness Month this October, encouraging Australians to get behind the transformative power of pink.

Exclusively featuring hues of pink from AERE, Atmos&Here and Dazie, the capsule collection has been curated by fashion stylist Donny Galella featuring a vibrant mix of women’s pieces in sizes 8-20.

Donny Galella, one of Australia’s most in-demand fashion stylists, knows better than most the impact a breast cancer diagnosis has on a family, having lost his beautiful sister Maria to the disease last year.

“I am a longtime supporter of the McGrath Foundation and passionate about helping people undergoing breast cancer treatment feel good. I jumped at the opportunity to style the McGrath Pink Edit with THE ICONIC to support the vital work of the McGrath Breast Care Nurses. What you wear can have a transformative effect on your mood and wellbeing, particularly pink, which is both calming and empowering. It’s also the colour of care that represents the McGrath Breast Care Nurses, and you can get behind the power of pink by shopping the McGrath Pink Edit knowing you’re making a difference.”

With more than 20,000 people expected to face a breast cancer diagnosis this year, 10% of all profits from the collection will go towards funding McGrath Breast Care Nurses who provide physical, emotional and psychological support from diagnosis and throughout treatment for people experiencing breast cancer.

Ranging from soft hues of baby pink to bold shades of hot pink, THE ICONIC x McGrath Pink Edit boasts a versatile collection of pieces from flowing dresses to tailored blazers and basic tees.

THE ICONIC Chief Commercial and Sustainability Officer, Gayle Burchell said, “Most people have been touched by breast cancer in some way. As Australia’s leading fashion and lifestyle platform, we are honoured to use our platform to raise critical funds and awareness to help the McGrath Foundation work towards its mission that no one goes through breast cancer without the care of a breast care nurse.

“Pink is a timeless colour that transcends trends and continues to work its way into the modern woman’s wardrobe. Whether it’s worn top to toe, or individually to add a pop of pink to an outfit, it’s fitting that pink is the colour of care – soothing, comforting, healing but equally powerful. We’re thrilled to be launching the Pink Edit as another avenue for Australians to get behind the McGrath Foundation and wear pink this Breast Cancer Awareness Month,” she added.

Since its inception in 2005, the McGrath Foundation has supported more than 127,000 individuals and families impacted by breast cancer and now funds 204 McGrath Breast Care Nurses providing free care and support in communities across Australia.

Breast cancer incidence is rising, and along with improved survival rates and the increasingly complex treatment trajectory, the ongoing need for specialist breast care nurses continues to grow.

McGrath Foundation Ambassador and Director, Tracy Bevan concludes, “We are calling on the nation to shop pink for a purpose to help us reach our goal to fund 250 McGrath Breast Care Nurses by 2025. Everyone going through breast cancer treatment deserves access to a specialist breast care nurse, and I hope that by encouraging Australians to add some pink to their wardrobe this Breast Cancer Awareness Month we will be closer to making this goal a reality.”

The McGrath Pink Edit will be available exclusively on THE ICONIC for the duration of Breast Cancer Awareness Month from Sunday 1 October until 31 October.
