Community First Credit Union has announced it has officially raised $1 million for the McGrath Foundation to help fund McGrath Breast Care Nurses across Australia.

Since 2009, Community First Credit Union has been donating $20 of the annual fee for the Low Rate Pink Credit Card holders and more recently, $1 of the monthly fee for Pink Debit card holders to the McGrath Foundation.

Mr John Tancevski, Chief Executive of Community First Credit Union said that Community First’s Low Rate Pink credit card, which launched 11 years ago to support the McGrath Foundation, is Australia’s only credit card supporting people with breast cancer and their families. We do this by raising funds to place specialist McGrath Breast Care Nurses in communities across Australia.

“We are delighted our members have supported this important cause and that we are doing our bit in helping people with breast cancer and increasing breast cancer awareness by providing a low rate card with a higher purpose,” said Mr Tancevski.

“Our low fee banking products and long-term partnerships with organisations such as the McGrath Foundation are just some of the ways we make a tangible difference to the communities where we operate.”

McGrath Foundation President & Co-Founder, Glenn McGrath, could not be more grateful for Community First Credit Union’s support.

“When we entered this partnership 11 years ago, we had no idea it would raise $1 million for our McGrath Breast Care Nurses,” Mr McGrath said.
